Beginning Monday, May 10, the City of Brentwood will initiate collection and disposal of household debris from homes affected by the recent floods. This service is expected to continue for approximately 3 weeks.
If you have flood debris please follow these steps:
1) Household debris such as a furniture, carpeting, drywall, insulation, fencing, etc.
2) Electrical appliances including heat and air conditioning units.
3) Brush which will be collected as part of the normal monthly chipper service.
If your home was affected by the flood but you do not have any debris to be removed, you should still call the Public Works Department at 371-0080 to be sure your home is on the City’s list of flood impacted residences.
Anyone affected by the flooding is also advised to register with FEMA to be eligible for assistance. To register, call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) from 7:00 a.m. – 10 p.m. or go online to www.disasterassistance.gov. The Annual Garage Sale is here again. If you are interested in participating and have not signed up, please e-mail Tricia Spehr at tspehr@mac.com
All participants should have balloons attached to their mailboxes. Tricia will be sure your street has a garage sale sign at the corner. Signs will be posted at all three entrances. Remember to have plenty of small bills and change on hand the day of the sale.
